Marriage and Family

It is goal of this ministry to help people understand God’s view of and design of the family, based on the Bible.  God uses the family as the main vehicle to pass on His truth to future generations.  This is one reason why it is important for the family unit to be built upon the principles of God’s Word.  When parents are following God and passing that on to their children, family by family the world begins to change.

The importance of communicating God’s word to the family is evident throughout many ministries at Rocky Mountain Calvary.  Each weekend parents are children are taught the same passages of scripture so discussions can take place on what each person has learned.  Free biblical counseling is provided for husbands and wives on a daily basis by pastoral staff and volunteers.  Listed below are a few other opportunities to discover what God’s Word has for the family.

Premarital Counseling

Free premarital instruction is offered for couples wishing to be married.  This counseling is required for couples who will be married through Rocky Mountain Calvary.  After completing this course couples should understand the biblical model for marriage, how to communicate, share expectations, manage finances, and understand the importance God places on the marriage relationship.

Marriage Classes

Throughout the year Sunday evening marriage class sessions are offered based on the Love and Respect videos and workbook.  Currently the sessions are 6 weeks in length and are offered throughout the year.  Childcare is provided.  Click on the current event link below to see if a class is being offered or contact the Marriage Pastor.

Marriage Mentoring

Marriage mentoring is the linking of a married couple with a more seasoned married couple who will come alongside them to support, listen to, and direct them in godly counsel to help strengthen their marriage.

In your marriage, have you ever thought to yourself, “I wish someone would have told me….” and instead you stumble through, learning as you go?  Mentoring is helping that other couple learn what you’ve learned so they don’t have to make the same mistakes you made.

If you are interested in being mentored or becoming a marriage mentor, pick up either a Mentee Packet or Mentor Packet from the Information Center or contact the Marriage Pastor.
