Throughout the year there are many outreaches serving our local community and the broader community of Colorado. Listed below are a few of these outreaches:
Northern Churches Care
Rocky Mountain Calvary has partnered with Northern Churches Care (NCC) for the past two decades. NCC is the largest evangelical crisis relief agency in the Colorado Springs area. They minister to 15 zip codes and assist approximately 400 families every month. Crisis assistance is provided through rent assistance, travel vouchers, food, clothing, and utility assistance, to name a few. As of 2009, we expanded our partnership with NCC by housing a majority of their operations in our facility. For more information on NCC and the services they provide, visit their web site.
Prison Ministry
Since 2005, we have had individuals visiting Trinidad Correctional Facility every Sunday to minister to prisoners. Since that facility does not having a Chaplain, if our representative from RMC doesn’t go to perform a church service, the prisoners cannot gather to worship. A correspondence ministry reaches out to multiple prisons throughout Colorado by mailing Bible studies and communicating to prisoners as a way of discipleship. Since 2009, we have partnered with Hook Ministries, a local ministry specializing in one-on-one and group discipleship for inmates. This ministry also has the ability to do aftercare as inmates transition back into society.
SALT Ministry
SALT stands for Serving and Loving Teachers. Started at Sabin Middle School in 2010, the heart behind this ministry is to simply serve and love the Sabin teachers and staff who teach and serve our neighborhood kids by providing potluck meals throughout the year, giving needed school supplies, praying for them, sending birthday cards, etc. How we serve them may take different forms as time passes, but the heart of the ministry stands firm….just serve them and love them.
