But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. – Acts 1:8
In 2005, the leadership at Rocky Mountain Calvary gathered to answer the question, “What is it that God is calling us to do outside our borders?” After much discussion the answer was this: God has called our church to send out people to seek the lost and proclaim Christ to a hurting and dying world.” This calling begins from within our doors and extends into the entire world to those who have never heard the gospel. We are careful to seek the lost first in our Jerusalem (our local area), then our Judea (to broader areas), and ultimately to the furthest parts of the earth. That day marked the beginning of SEND missions.
It’s amazing to see what God is doing in the area of missions. As the church has been faithful to hear the Word of God, they have put feet to their faith by obeying the call of God to take His message to the ends of the earth. At RMC we are committed to reaching the lost for Christ and to the biblical model for missions. This model includes local outreach, ministry extending to surrounding communities, and mission endeavors to the unreached peoples of the world. The purpose of this vision is to win people to Christ and to disciple and equip them to fulfill their calling as believers. As our fellowship has embraced this call, God has renewed a passion to reach the world.
