“So teach us to number our days
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

Vision

The heart of women’s ministry (Women of Calvary) is to provide a place where women will be

  • strengthened by God’s Word
  • nurtured through each season of life
  • find fellowship in the Lord Jesus Christ

As we gather, we hope that women of all ages will discover and use their gifts and talents in dynamic ways, to the glory of God.

We invite you to join us at our various Bible Studies and Events!

Weekly Bible Studies

Fall Bible Study – Tuesdays from September 21 – November 16/December 7, 2021

Knowing God through His Word is essential for us as women! His Word is rich with wisdom and guidance for every season and every situation. Weekly Bible Studies, along with Biblical training courses, are available each semester.  Both provide the opportunity to study His Word alongside other women who are doing the same, as well having the opportunity to grow Biblically in guiding other women in their walk with Christ.

We have two semesters of study throughout the year; fall and spring.  The general registration for Fall opens August 7.  We are looking forward to you joining us this upcoming semester as we grow closer to the Lord by studying His word.

Late Registration can be done Tuesday morning/evening, September 21, before worship begins at 9:15am/6:30pm.  (Availability in class and childcare is may be limited.)

This fall we will be offering the following classes:

Bible Studies

James: Growing Up in Christ by Warren Wiersbe  – “The powerful message of James’ letter to the church is as relevant today as when he originally wrote it – though it is still as challenging to hear. Many of our problems in life stem from our own spiritual immaturity. However, our spiritual life doesn’t end there; God has more planned for us. He wants us to grow up, not just grow old.” Through this study we will learn through the teaching of Dr. Warren Wiersbe and journey together towards “Growing Up in Christ.”  (AM & PM) Cost: $18    Single mom code: SMJ2021

Precepts: Mark – The Gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of Man –The most important question you will ever answer is this: Who do you believe Jesus Christ is? With all the opinions floating around – He’s a good man, a teacher, a prophet, the Son of God – how can you know who is right? Mark’s account of Jesus’ life gives you the answer, and…shows you what Jesus actually did.” Joins us as we will take a careful look in observing Mark’s report and discover the truth about who Jesus claimed to be.  (AM & PM) Cost: $25

What’s It Like to be Married to Me? By Linda Dillow (Semester 1) – Join us for this 2-semester study which will take an introspective look through Bible truths so you can learn how to walk in your role as a wife, live by design and not default by asking the question, “What’s it Like to be Married to Me?” (Semester 2 will follow in January with the book Passion Pursuit, by Dr. Julie Slattery—where we will learn what God says about sex, your marriage, your healing and redemption.)  Semester 1 Cost: $18

Biblical Training Courses

RMCs Women’s Ministry is partnered with our Guidance Ministry in offering Biblical training courses for women.  These in depth training classes are open to all, yet are geared towards developing and training women in personal growth, learning how to approach life’s trials from a Biblical perspective, as well as meeting the requirements necessary to serve as a mentor and/or counselor at RMC.  See each class description for further details.

Self-Confrontation by John C. Broger: This 2-semester course has two purposes:  to teach you how to approach every circumstance, relationship, and problem from a biblical perspective and to experience victory and contentment in all of life’s trials. Completion of this course will give you tools to live a godly life and to help others.  This class is open to all; however, it is a required course for anyone interested in applying as a women’s counseling volunteer at Rocky Mountain Calvary. While the commitment to homework and Scripture is 1-2 hours a day, 5 days a week, the spiritual payoff is a life-long blessing. (AM & PM) Cost: $36

How to Counsel God’s Way by Bob Hoekstra – This 2-semester Bible study/training course teaches the Biblical perspective of counseling, God’s means in counseling, the equipping of counselor for ministry, and the four foundational truths for counseling and coming alongside others.  It also provides many opportunities for the student to practice counseling through case studies and role plays.  This course has a prerequisite of having completed Self-Confrontation or be recommended by a ministry leader.  Cost: $16

Lord, I Want to Know You by Kay Arthur – To know God is to know His character that is revealed in His names; each name is an aspect of His sovereignty over your life.  For a deeper, abiding faith, this study helps you understand how powerfully He works. This course is part of the RMC Women’s Mentoring training program, however, is open for anyone to take.  (AM & PM) Cost: $17

Women’s 2021 Events

Our events are designed to strengthen our hearts, encourage our daily living, and make us glad as we gather together.  Even in our current culture of restrictions, mask wearing, and overall separation, we can still find different and unique ways to remain connected.  The need for fellowship is great and we pray that you will join with us whether it be online, or in person as we are able.

Spring Event – Held in April each year following our spring semester of Bible studies

Stay tuned for upcoming information in winter, 2022.

Fall Retreat – “In Christ: A Study in Philippians” – Friday, September 10- Sunday, September 12, 2021

We are thrilled to be reconnecting this year at Trail West in Buena Vista!!  From Friday to Sunday we will dive deep into the book of Philippians as we gather as women and believers looking to live and walk “in Christ.”  Come and be blessed by great fellowship, make new friends, enjoy plenty of food and be surrounded by a beautiful location tucked right up next to the mountains.  There are always incredible moments with Jesus and a encouraging filling by His Spirit to prepare you for life’s daily battles.

Special guest worship will be led by the lovely Lindsy Tucker.  The Baskets of Love fundraiser is always part of the event as we purpose to bless and serve our single moms throughout the year.  Our annual retreat never disappoints.  Please see the events page to register for your spot today.  (Space is limited.)
