“So teach us to number our days
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

The heart of women’s ministry (Women of Calvary) is to provide a place where women will be

  • strengthened by God’s Word
  • nurtured through each season of life
  • find fellowship in the Lord Jesus Christ

As we gather, we hope that women of all ages will discover and use their gifts and talents in dynamic ways, to the glory of God.

We invite you to join us at our various Bible Studies and Events!

Weekly Bible Studies

Fall Bible Study – Tuesdays from September 22 – November 17, 2020

Knowing God through His Word is essential for us as women! His Word is rich with wisdom and guidance for every season and every situation. Weekly Bible Studies, along with Biblical training courses, are available each semester.  Both provide the opportunity to study His Word alongside other women who are doing the same, as well having the opportunity to grow in Biblically guiding other women in their walk with Christ.

We have two semesters of study throughout the year; fall and spring.  Registration for Fall 2020 begins August 15.  We are looking forward to you joining us this upcoming semester as we grow closer to the Lord as women in His word.

This fall we will be offering the following classes:

Bible Studies

I, II, III John – written by John the apostle, who walked faithfully with the Lord for a lot of years! John has much to share with women today given our current cultural climate. In these 3 small, but very practical and powerful NT books, John assures us of our salvation, warns us about false teachers, and encourages us to love and walk in fellowship with the Lord and other believers.  This study will have daily homework (5-day structure) and observation/application to ponder as we listen and learn what the Lord will teach us specifically. Cost: $5.

Precepts…Ruth – Come dive into this rich study as we learn how Jesus both bought us (redeemer) and advocates (defends) for us, offering us an opportunity to rebuild our broken lives. Both advanced and introductory options available. Cost: $10

(PM ONLY) Motherwise: Wisdom for Mothers by Denise Glenn – Based on Proverbs 31, this two semester study will help you find Biblical answers to your important questions about marriage, parenting, and priorities.  In addition to the Bible study, you will learn to improve your mothering skills and will find helpful mothering tips designed for moms of all ages and stages of motherhood. Cost: $20

Biblical Training Courses

RMCs Women’s Ministry is partnered with our Guidance Ministry in offering Biblical training courses for women.  These in depth training classes are open to all, yet are geared towards developing and training women in personal growth, learning how to approach life’s trials from a Biblical perspective, as well as meeting the requirements necessary to serve as a mentor and/or counselor at RMC.  See each class description for further details.

Self-Confrontation: This course has two purposes:  to teach you how to approach every circumstance, relationship, and problem from a biblical perspective and to experience victory and contentment in all of life’s trials. Completion of this course will give you tools to live a godly life and to help others.  This class is open to all; however, it is a required course for anyone interested in applying as a women’s counseling volunteer at Rocky Mountain Calvary. While the commitment to homework and Scripture is 1-2 hours a day, 5 days a week, the spiritual payoff is a life-long blessing. Cost: $35.

How to Counsel God’s Way by Bob Hoekstra – this 2-semester Bible study/training course teaches the Biblical perspective of counseling. This practical study includes case studies and opportunities to practice (role plays). Students will learn how to Biblically counsel a wide variety of problems and issues. This course is open to all and recommended for those who currently counsel, mentor, or provide counseling in an informal manner. Cost: $16.

When People are Big, and God is Small by Ed Welch.  Do you struggle with fear of man, look for your validation and identity in the opinions of others?  Have you struggled in separating what God thinks of you vs. what man thinks of you, or walk with women caught up in the anxiety of pleasing man? This two-fold purpose class will help to identify and implement a fear of God that is greater than the fear of man as well as help those who are walking alongside others in identifying the source of anxiety, fear, and depression due to elevating man above God. This course is open to all, and is a prerequisite class if you are interested in applying as a women’s mentoring volunteer at RMC.  Required homework includes reading 2 chapters each week and completing the workbook. Cost: $20.
